Investigation launched following convenience store burglary in Farnborough.

Police in Farnborough are investigating a break-in at the Londis store on Gifford Drive, where thousands of pounds worth of cigarettes were stolen early yesterday morning (Sunday, March 30).

Three masked men, who are all described as white, smashed the shop window, before taking stock from behind the counter.

A car driving by during the burglary stopped, and the men who were all armed with sledge hammers went over to the vehicle and damaged it. The driver and his passengers were unharmed and drove off.

DC Faltermeyer at Aldershot Police Station said:

"This was a carefully planned burglary which took less than five minutes, and the offenders seemed to know exactly where to go in the shop to find the cigarettes and tobacco.

The convenience store is in a residential area and a number of people may have heard or seen the burglary."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC Faltermeyer at Aldershot police station on 101 or via the website http://www.hampshire.police.uk/internet/do-it-online/online-forms/message-for-officer.html
