Community urged to continue to look out for missing Yateley man

Residents in Yateley and the surrounding areas are being encouraged to continue to look out for missing man Andrew Chalkley.

The 50-year-old was last seen on the morning of Tuesday, April 22, outside his home in Goldcrest Close, Yateley. He has not been seen since.

He was reported missing to police on Tuesday evening and due to his poor health, officers and his family are concerned for his welfare.

Teams of specialist officers - along with police dogs and the police helicopter - local officers and volunteers from HANTSAR have mounted a search operation this week. This has concentrated on specific areas and has now concluded.

Chief Inspector Annabel Berry said:

"We are continuing with efforts to try and find Andrew and would encourage the local community to stay vigilant and report any sightings to us as soon as possible.

Please continue to check your sheds, outbuildings and gardens, and if you are out walking the dog, please keep an eye out for him.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in the search effort, especially the volunteers. They have had to battle with difficult conditions at times and their help has been invaluable."

Andrew is a white man, of medium build, about 6ft tall, and he has short black and greying hair. He suffers with swollen feet and shortness of breath and therefore is likely he will have been seen stopping in order to assist with his breathing if he is walking.

Please view a photo of Andrew which is a few years old but is the only picture we have available.

We would ask anyone who may have seen Andrew to contact the police by calling 101.
