Appeal after arson in Aldershot

Police in Aldershot are appealing for witnesses after an arson at a block of flats in the High Street.

The fire service were called at 3.38am on Saturday, May 31 to a report of a fire in a basement of the property.

They soon managed to put it out and not much damage was caused however it's believed it was started deliberately and there was the potential for it to endanger lives as the flats above were occupied at the time.

Officers are now investigating it as arson endangering life and are appealing for any witnesses who may have been in the High Street/Barrack Road area around the time and seen the incident or anyone suspicious in the area.
