CCTV issued following assault at Fleet nightclub

Detectives investigating an assault at a Fleet nightclub have issued CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to.

The incident occurred on Friday, June 20 between 12.40am and 12.45am within the smoking area for Jaxx nightclub on Upper Street.

The victim, a 21-year-old man, was approached by an unknown man who asked him for a cigarette and a lighter but the victim told the man he didn't have either.

He was then hit to the face causing him to fall onto the pavement.

As a result of the incident the victim suffered a broken jaw and required surgery. He remains in hospital at this time.

Detective Constable Sue Champion from Aldershot police station said:

"We would like to speak to the man captured in the CCTV images as we believe he may be able to assist with our investigation.

This was an unprovoked attack which has left a young man in hospital with a serious injury. If anyone witnessed the assault or recognises this man then I would urge them to contact police."

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact DC Champion at Aldershot CID by calling 101. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
