Assault in Aldershot

Detectives have today released CCTV after a man had part of his ear bitten off during an assault in Aldershot.

The incident occurred between 2am and 2.30am on Sunday, June 1 on Victoria Road.

The victim, a 46-year-old man, intervened to prevent another man from being further assaulted after he had witnessed him being punched.

The victim was taken to Frimley Park Hospital were he required surgery.

Detective Constable Sarah Moyce-Phillips from Aldershot CID said:

"This incident occurred on a bank holiday weekend when many pubs in the area had televised the boxing match between Carl Froch and George Groves. Were you out that night watching the match and did you witness this incident?

Officers would like to speak to the man in the CCTV as he may be able to assist with the investigation."
