Assault in Yateley

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Yateley.

The incident occurred outside the Royal Oak Public House on Reading Road in Yateley on Saturday, September 13 between 9pm and 9.15pm.

A 49-year-old man was assaulted by another man resulting in a serious injury to his face for which he remains in hospital at this time.

A 50-year-old man from Yateley has been arrested on suspicion of assault. He has been bailed pending further enquiries until November 12.

Detective Constable Andy Young from Aldershot CID said:

"This incident occurred while the public house was busy on a Saturday evening and there would have been a number of witnesses to the incident who may have information that could assist our investigation."
